Shirley
E. Baenen Bio
 Ms.
Baenen is a Real Estate Broker and Certified General Appraiser,
with over thirty years experience in the Real Estate industry. Shirley
holds a BA degree in Real Estate from Washington State University,
and has completed the masters program required course work in Organization
Development from Central Washington University. She has a Washington
state real estate broker's license and earned the Certified Property
Managers (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management
(IREM) in 1973. Shirley was formally the Director of the Real Estate
Program at Bellevue Community College. Currently, she is developing
and instructing online courses for Pierce College, Puyallup, WA.
Shirley is the President of Columbia Real Estate Services, Inc.,
a real estate appraisal and consulting firm, and Columbia Real Estate
Education, the education arm of the corporation.
Shirley has
served in elected positions in local, state, and national real estate
organizations, including the Realtors and the Institute of Real
Estate Management. She served two years as the Education Program
Manager for the Washington State Dept. of Licensing Real Estate
Program.
Shirley has
been involved in real estate education as a course developer and
instructor for industry groups and colleges since 1973. Shirley's
teaching experience includes classes in Real Estate Fundamentals,
Appraisal Principles, Appraisal Procedures, Appraiser Trainee Supervision,
Brokerage Management, Business Management, Property Management and
many seminars. She is approved as an instructor by the Washington
State Dept. of Licensing in these disciplines.
